We caught up Laoise Keaveney from the National Wa
x Museum Plus and the Irish Rock ‘N’ Roll Museum Experience at a conference recently to discuss its prime location at the centre of O’Connell Street and how the Irish Rock ‘N’ Roll Museum Experience is growing into one of Ireland’s best museums. What’s new in The National Wax Museum Plus? This year there’s a little something more for everyone at the National Wax Museum Plus and this summer sees plenty of brand new additions to the museum. We’re relatively well known for our Game of Thrones Wall of Heads and we have some great new additions with Khallesi Danerys Targaryn standing in our Grand Wall of Fame. We also have some brand new virtual reality experience bringing a VR experience the the Science and Discovery Area. That’s on top of the Wax Magic App and we added in some animatronics to the Museum also. What do tourists find most engaging within the Museum? We find there’s lots going on in the Museum which tourists and natives alike engage with. There’s a mirror maze where you can see yourself from all angles, the Grand Hall of Fame leads into a picturesque Georgian writer’s room and a picturesque view of Dublin City. What’s in store for the visitors with the Irish Rock ‘n’ Roll Museum Experience this summer? We have lots of historic reasons to visit the Irish Rock ‘n’ Roll Museum Experience and amazing memorabilia within the museum. There’s a wide range of the memorabilia in the Museum telling Ireland’s international story of Rock ‘N’ Roll and Ireland’s location added to the Museum to celebrate Irish Music History and they’re a great addition to the Museum. They’ll also learn about the wide range of Music History within the Museum. Any recent donations to the Museum Experience? We have had a wide range of donations to the museum over the years, most recently adding some memorabilia from Terri Colman Black arguably Ireland’s biggest Beatles fan. It includes a piece of the cavern from Liverpool itself. There’s a wide range of memorabilia from the Rock ’N’ Roll museum experience celebrating all Irish music from Sinead O’Connor to the Strypes with quite a bit of the tour as the Museum has a wide range of memorabilia in the Museum from Thin Lizzy to U2 to the the Sex Pistols and a few extra additions to the museum!
