KURAGE Kurage creates art based on a powerful vis
ion in which the theatrical concept is developed with the aid of invited artists. Each performance has a specific, unique idiom. Exciting theatrical encounters are a favourite characteristic. Charlotta has a void inside. Sometimes she tries to fill that void with things. In the world of advertising, everyone seems so happy. Charlotta wants to be equally as happy as the people in advertisements. She isn’t very successful. Instead, Charlotta is filled with shame and hides her purchases, running off to the next happy advertisement, hoping it will help. Shopping till both she and the world pass by. Kurage debates existential questions in a personal and humorous encounter with a person’s guilty conscience and insatiable need to consume. Are we using our consumption to replace something?
