Snickers Workwear 2021 1
Wear layers to increase your protection. There ar
e many types of risk areas where workers need protective wear. Examples of these areas are environments where workers may be exposed to electrical hazards, the risk of collision as well as thermal, chemical and mechanical risks. These risk environments present various levels of risk and therefore require different types of protective wear. One of the best ways to improve your level of protection is to wear layers. A fundamental requirement is of course that all garments are certified and flame retardant. The main benefit of wearing layers is that the air gap formed between different garments provides increased protection. When working in high-risk environments, it’s important to wear flame-retardant clothing at every layer, even the one closest to your skin. Wearing layers is also a great way to increase the arc rating and improve your heat and thermal hazard protection. To ensure optimal comfort, base layer items should provide a soft feel and offer a level of warmth and/or cooling as preferred by each individual. It should not be a matter of WHETHER you wear a base layer, but instead WHICH TYPE of base layer you choose. 152
