Gig: Cherry Glazerr After starting out as Clement
ine Creevy’s scrappy musical project when she was just 15, Cherry Glazerr have been through a lot for such a young band, with a shifting line-up and having found the time to already put out three albums. The latest, Stuffed and Ready, sees Creevy in a mood somewhere between feral and burnt-out, and she rails against the world’s wrongs and wrestles with self-doubt over ten tracks of rocket-fuelled sludgerock. The LA band come to Stockholm on April 12. Cherry Glazerr, Melodybox, Apr 12 Gig: Erik Lundin Erik Lundin has been a household name in Sweden since he released his EP Suedi in 2015, which told the story of a young black man growing up in modern Sweden in a manner that ranged between elegant and incendiary, but was always compelling. He went on to win ‘Årets Textförfattare’ (Lyricist of the Year) och ‘Årets Hip Hop/Soul’ (Hip Hop/ Soul of the Year) at the Grammis, and now he’s coming back with a more long-view project. His debut album Zebrapojken is out in March, and he’s taking it on tour, landing in Stockholm in April. Now on her third album as Cosmos, Kline’s work collects tales of shy, subtle moments, sets them to sparkling indie-rock and wraps them up in sub-three-minute songs. Her third album, Vessel, is Kline’s most polished and deepest record to date, tackling bigger and heavier themes and broadening her sound past the Bandcamp scrappiness of her earlier work. She brings it to Melodybox in April. Frankie Cosmos, Melodybox, Apr 3 27 Photo: Angel Ceballos Photo: Abraham Engelmark Photo: Pamela Littky
