rld Anyone Would Love You Exhibition: Sharon Hayes The American activist and artist Sharon Hayes made her breakthrough back in the ‘90s with her performance tour Lesbian Love Tour, where she visited 45 lesbian living rooms across the US. Since then she’s made a career from her dynamic and innovative works, taking the intimate and performing it on improvised and public stages, like her piece Everything Else Has Failed! Don’t You Think It’s Time for Love?, which saw her perform love letters outside a bank in New York. This exhibition at Moderna Museet features performances, video pieces and photography. Since then, he’s been one of Scotland’s most popular comedians, both for his sharp wit and ability to frame and deliver the quirks of his fellow Scots with irresistible punchlines. He’s now heading out on his fourth world tour, which he’s dubbed, well, ‘Brand New Tour’, and it pulls into Sweden in April. The Hasselblad Foundation’s collection provides the source material for Sven Harry’s new exhibition Here’s Looking At You, curated by the cinematographer Hoyte van Hoytema (known for his work on films like Her, Interstellar and Spectre). The exhibition’s main obsession is the intimacy of eye contact, as the photographs’ subjects stare down the camera and out at the viewer. “When the museum was granted access to the Hasselblad Foundation’s unique collection of photographs, we asked ourselves how we could best create a unique show and a whole new way to experience photography”, says Dragana Kusoffsky Maksimović, CEO of Sven-Harry’s. “We realised that what we were looking for was a curator who could interpret the collection in a completely new and exciting way. With this in mind, choosing Hoyte van Hoytema, a brilliant cinematographer, felt just right and we’re very happy about and grateful for his participation and contribution to the exhibition. It has been fascinating to see what happens when a cinematographer curates an exhibition of stills”. Here’s Looking At You, Sven Harry’s Art Museum, on display until May 19 28
