turpris Linnea Axelsson, 2018 winner of the August Prize, also received the Svenska Dagbladets literary prize for her epic poem Ædnan (Albert Bonniers förlag). Ædnan is an old Northern Sami word and means ‘the land’, ‘the ark’ or ‘the earth’. The Nordic Council Literature Prizes Two Swedish books were nominated: Gunnar D. Hansson’s poetry collection The Tapes Sea (Albert Bonniers förlag), which was also given the Sveriges Radios Lyrikpris award, and Agneta Pleijel’s novel The Scent of a Man (Norstedts). Pleijel’s novel is set during the 1960s and is “a feminist journey of self-discovery, a loving, multifaceted and humorous depiction of a young woman’s struggle with finding herself”. “ Ædnan is an old Northern Sami word and means ‘the land’, ‘the ark’ or ‘the earth’.” On the meaning of the title of Linnea Axelsson's award-winning epic poem. Comics awards Adamsonstatyetten 2018 Per Demervall was awarded the prize from Svenska Serieakademin, for amongst other things, his illustrations to the comics Siri and the Vikings (Rabén och Sjögren). The story combines a mature literary level with historical adventures for younger readers and was written by Patric Nyström. Urhunden Seriefrämjandets Prize for the best comic book of the year was awarded to Li Österberg’s Athena – Daddy’s Girl (Epix förlag), about the childhood of the goddess Pallas Athena and her struggle to find her place in the world and on Mount Olympus.
