STAINABLE DEVELOPMENT The I.A. Hedin group has been growing rapidly over the last couple of years, mainly through acquisitions, the latest being that of yet another site in Belgium as well as new sites in Sweden. As the concern is growing measures are being made to ensure a more environmental-friendly operation through reviewing energy consumption on site, waste management, the use of more ecofriendly products in the workshops with positive synergies for both the environment, personnel and the economical outcome. Read more under Environmental impact. A SUSTAINABLE EMPLOYER The I.A Hedin Bil group has an average of 2,733 employees and as of 2017 that number also includes other countries. As the company grows the need to attract new and competent coworkers grows, as well as the need to develop and motivate the employees that we already have. To be an attractive employer Hedin Bil is affiliated with the Swedish collective agreement. Such an affiliation comes with several perks for the employee, not to mention the extra sense of security that it brings. The collective agreement also means that we offer our employees OAP, disability pension and in some cases family pension in accordance to current agreements. During 2018 and 2019, the company has also expanded the presence in Belgium. The market where I.A. Hedin is active is highly exposed to competition regarding the employment and maintenance of personnel, and to be able to keep as much personnel as possible the salaries and conditions needs to be adjusted to the conditions of the market. Hedin Bil always hire locally to our sites, every position, from local management to mechanics. Corporate managers oversee several sites at once but are locally hired from some of the facilities and is therefore well acquainted to the local area and market. INDIRECT ECONOMICAL IMPACT The I.A. Hedin Bil group is operative in a trade without any substantial influence or effect on the societal infrastructure or commonwealth. The work to contribute carried out by the concern is focused on making sure that there are educational possibilities for the youth within different occupational lines, such as mechanics for cars, boats, trucks and bodywork. The occupation of today is much more technically advanced and computerized, and the group keeps an active dialogue with counties that is lobbying for the profession. To emphasize that the occupation is advancing to attract the youth to these educations is in I.A. Hedin Bils direct interest. 14
