Hot guest appearance The bourbon brand Bulleit ha
s developed a bourbon-based hot sauce and all through July you have the chance to try it at the hyped restaurant Brisket And Friends on Upplandsgatan 7. Apart from bourbon the sauce is based on pineapple and chilli. “We’re passionate about making specialities from the Southern states and bourbon is an important ingredient. That’s why it’s an obvious choice to develop our own hot sauce with Bulleit bourbon. We created the recipe together with Maria Lulu from Denmark – ‘the queen of hot sauce’. We think it’s a fantastic taste experience,” says Patrick Bergman, brand ambassador for Bulleit bourbon in the Nordic region. /PT Regeringsgatan 21 Shopping mall Gallerian is opening a new restaurant on Regeringsgatan 21. Turegruppen, who are also behind Broms and Vetekatten, are also behind this effort. The restaurant is located in the middle of the shopping destination and European dishes featuring elements from the Asian cuisine is what’s on the menu. “We want to offer the visitors to Gallerian the total package and food experiences are an important part of that. With a modern interior and well-composed menu Regeringsgatan 21 will become a new meeting point for foodies in the city centre,” says Cecilia Åkesson at Gallerian. The menu at Regeringsgatan 21 offers several vegetarian options and the size of the dishes ranges from small and mid-sized to a’la carte mains. On weekends the restaurant serves brunch. “Turesgruppen has extensive experience of the restaurant trade and is comprised of genuine food nerds who love food, drink and good service. We’re seeking inspiration from across the whole world and try to be cutting edge when it comes to the future trends. The modern concept of Gallerian suits us perfectly and Regeringsgatan 21 is, according to me, the best designed restaurant in a shopping mall in Sweden,” says Daniel Malmros, restaurant manager. Regeringsgatan 21 is currently open until 20:00 each night but from the middle of September the opening times will be extended. This is happening in connection with Gallerian’s launch of a night-time restaurant lane in between Brunkebergstorg and Kungsträdgården. /PT Spritmuseum With Swedish craft drinks in the glass and a view out over the surrounding boats and the Swedish summer, Spritmuseum’s pier Brygga & Berså offers a great place to spend a summer evening. Located in-between a shipwreck and an amusement park, their main selling-point is their dedication to promoting Swedish drink producers - everything from beer to cider and wine, gin and whisky originating from the whole country, from far up north to the very south. With 750 producers Sweden has rarely been as well-supplied as it is today. But not only do they stock a lot of these interesting craft labels, they have also invited some of them to host nights at the pier. The idea is of course to provide an opportunity to meet the producers and to learn of their work and products, and perhaps especially, to taste it. Spritmuseum’s restaurant also presents a summer menu very well suited to both the Swedish summer and the Swedish drinks on offer. Chef and restaurant manager Petter Nilsson explains their focus on the Swedish fare. “We think it’s important to shed light on what’s going on in the Swedish drinks trade. We have, through the museum, a fairly good scope for the new exciting producers and want to provide a stage for them,” he says. /PSC Hosts at Brygga & Berså in late July and August: Thursday 25 July – Fermenterarna Thursday 1 Aug – Rålunds Viner Saturday 10 Aug – Kyrkeby Bränneri Thursday 29 Aug – Snausarve Gårdsbryggeri 21
