Guinnessstorehouse.com/storehouse-seafest Oktoberfest at Eatyard Swords We’re still digesting the unpalatable news about the impending closure of the Bernard Shaw, and with it the loss of weekly food market Eatyard. Undeterred, the innovative folk behind both ventures have been busy breathing new life into their latest projects, moving beyond the city’s parameters to do so. This month Eatyard unveils its take on Oktoberfest, offering a taste of Bavaria on each Sunday of the month, complete with beer hall, steins, chicken schnitzels, apple strudel and all sorts of fun and entertainment. Tickets €15pp/€100 per group of eight, Jam Park, Swords. the-eatyard.com/Oktoberfest 3. Hot and Cool The people’s republic of Stoneybatter has been welcoming people to its borough since the days of the Vikings, so its recently acquired moniker as Ireland’s coolest neighbourhood comes as no surprise. The hospitable village is home to Grano, fast becoming one of our favourite Italian eateries, while nearby Walsh’s Pub offers award-winning service with a smile. In addition to the hallmark creamy pints on offer at the popular watering hole, those stopping by for a Tuesday evening bevvy get to sample a cheeseboard on the house, with savoury delights such as Corleggy and Gubeen, sourced from their neighbours at Lilliput Stores. walshesstoneybatter.ie 4. Mobrunch at Coppinger Row The first weekend in October sees Coppinger Row teaming up with Movember Ireland for a very special brunch party at the popular Southside venue. The menu features a selection of classic brunch dishes including poached eggs with creamy hollandaise, accompanied by a pick-me-up in the form of Coppinger’s signature Bloody Mary and espresso martini cocktails. The afternoon soundtrack comes courtesy of a great line up of DJs, with bangers on the decks from midday. Tickets cost €25pp and include a brunch dish and a cocktail. The Regional Series at The Exchequer Over the past few months chef Marty Montgomery and sommelier Javier Tena have been wowing diners at The Exchequer in Ranelagh with a fascinating regional food and wine pairing series. This month they celebrate the bold flavours of South America with specialties such as ceviche, steak and chimichurri matched with a choice of Dulche de Leche, or a chance to try a Pisco Sour cocktail, the national drink of Chile and Peru. In November, they’ll be revisiting the best of the series so far, with a flavoursome combination of Italian, Spanish, French and South American menu staples.
