Beyoncé gracing the cover of the US Vogue September issue and Rhianna on the cover of the British edition, September is like Christmas time for fashion lovers. So, the timing is perfect for The Gibson Hotel to host a talk on fashion. Partnering with creative director, stylist and style writer, Corina Gaffey, guests will watch The Devil Wears Prada, followed by a panel discussion on what it takes to work in the fashion industry. There will be drinks, nibbles and, of course, popcorn. The Gibson Hotel, Saturday September 15, 6.30pm, €20 © Kevin Fox Ellie, Drum 2017 Exhibition Reframing the Border Exhibition Miranda Blennerhasset Scottish born Miranda Blennerhasset works with animation, printmaking and installation. Her latest work, Kambur, examines the relationship between architecture and ornamentation and was influenced from a recent residency in Iceland. The wall-painting is a study of traditional knitting patterns and the writings of Gottfried Semper in The Four Elements of Architecture. Located in the center of the tourist hustle and bustle, the Atrium Space is a respite for some serene artistic considerations. Temple Bar Gallery/Atrium Space until September 15 The Gallery of Photography will be presenting a group exhibition by fourteen Irish based emerging and established artists. The exhibition explores the physical, social, psychological and imagined spaces of the borderlands of Ireland. The centenary of Partition is a reminder that this topic is one that is an important one in the memories of those who lived through the times when there was a hard boarder. The uncertain atmosphere surrounding Brexit is also a reminder that things could go back to the way they were. A timely topic, these photographs create a powerful narrative around what separates and divides a nation. Gallery of Photography, Temple Bar until September 9 Exhibition Monir Shahroudy Farmanfarmaian: Sunset, Sunrise 8 It is telling of the esteem in which the nonagenarian artist Monir Shahroudy Farmanfarmaian is held in her native Iran that it opened its first museum dedicated to a solo female in her honor last December. Having been effectively exiled during the Iranian revolution, the nonagenarian became a friend of Andy Warhol, Jackson Pollock and Willem de Kooning, yet only received her first US solo museum exhibition at the Guggenheim in New York in 2015. Her work is based on geometry and the design which emanates from these principles in different materials. Irish Museum of Modern Art until November 25
