Totally Stockholm 1
Exhibition: Tuija Lindström Tuija Lindström is an
icon of Swedish photography, and a pioneer for female artists working in the medium. She was the first female professor of photography at the Swedish school, Fotohögskolan, which became the University of Gothenburg’s HDK Valand, but outside of those she taught, her stark, vivid style, leaning more towards art than strict representational photography, inspired many of the biggest names working in the medium today. This exhibition at Kulturhuset presents work by those she inspired, the likes of Jenny Källman, Trinidad Carrillo and Julia Peirone as well as her own work, including her celebrated collection Kvinnorna vid Tjursjön. They’ve had to take the last few years off because, well, you know, but now they’re finally coming back to Gärdet this summer. And for their long-awaited second edition, they haven’t held back. The headliners this year include international superstars like The Killers, Post Malone, Lorde and Pearl Jam, and the cream of local talent is also well-represented with Tove Lo, Veronica Maggio, MIYNT and Little Jinder.
