High-Vis Stay visible. Stay safe. BEING HIGHLY VI
SIBLE CAN BE A LIFE-SAVER IN HAZARDOUS WORK ENVIRONMENTS. High-visibility clothing is a vital part of personal protection when working in dim light conditions. Our new wider range of high-vis garments offers a diverse choice of functionality and comfort for those working in these conditions. We’ve restyled our most popular trousers and jackets to create high-visibility versions, and have added the features that we know customers want, such as an integrated ID badge holder and heat-sealed reflective tape instead of sewn-on reflective strips. This technology makes the material more supple, thus allowing greater ease of movement. We know that experienced and devoted wearers of our work trousers will appreciate the Kneeguard system, preshaped legs and amazingly comfortable fit that they’re used to, and they can rest assured that they’ll be visible and safe while working. For the summer months, when high visibility clothing can be a burden to wear, we offer styles with a new, airier structure that lets perspiration escape more easily. HOW DOES IT WORK The difference between fluorescent, reflective and contrast material. The purpose of the fluorescent (usually yellow, orange and red neon colours) is to be visible in dusk, dawn and daylight as well as in fog or haze. The reflective material, on the other hand, is designed to be visible while illuminated in dark conditions. To be certified according to EN ISO 20471:2013, the contrast materials must be resistant to bleeding during washing so that they don’t ruin the visibility of the garment’s fluorescent and reflective materials. The difference between orange and yellow. It’s usually easier to spot a person wearing yellow fluorescent garments compared to orange. This is because yellow has higher luminous power than orange, meaning it appears brighter to the eye from a specific angle. In a white winter landscape, however, the opposite applies. This is because orange provides a higher contrast to a white background. So, although orange has lower luminance than a yellow fluorescent material, the orange colours is more visible in a winter landscape because of higher contrast. In this case, contrast trumps luminance. Read more about EN and ISO standards on pages 189–192 6932 FlexiWork, High-Vis Work Trousers Holster Pockets+ CL2 HIGH-VIS 175
