The larger the drive the more torque can be applied. • KEEP IT CLEAN AND DRY After use always check the tools are clean and dry before putting them away, this will help to avoid problems such as corrosion and moving parts seizing or becoming tight. • STORE IT PROPERLY After use return the torque wrench setting to zero and store the tool in it’s original case or a suitable case that will give adequate protection • CHECK IT REGULARLY All torque wrenches need to be checked periodically and sometimes adjusted. • BE CAREFUL Torque wrenches are a measuring instrument and need to be treated with care – if you drop it you should get the calibration checked before using the torque wrench again • DO NOT USE SCAFFOLDING POLES OR SIMILAR If the fastening will not turn with the tools you are using you need to use a more powerful tool such as a larger tool or even an impact power tool. Do not use bars to increase the leverage – it is dangerous and can break the tool. • DO NOT USE A VEHICLE TO TURN THE NUT it is dangerous and can break the tools. • DO NOT USE IT AS A BREAKER BAR Torque wrenches are for measuring and should not be used as a breaker bar to shift stubborn fastenings. 257 Teng Tools
