Checklist: Prior to the end of the residency peri
od – Start conversations early on about what the artist would like to do after the residency period. – Be clear from the beginning about what can be expected of the City of Refuge and the available options. – Provide information about which social facilities are responsible for what and give the artist in residence tools to find information themselves. There is a lot of information available in several languages. – Provide assistance in finding public human resources with knowledge and skills that are not available from the culture administration (if the coordinator service is under that administration). – Contact the Swedish Migration Board well before the end of the residency period if the artist wishes to apply for a residence permit, work permit or asylum. – Mobilise professional networks and established contacts to see if there is any support available there. – Plan any final arrangements. – Cancel the lease of computers and any other technical equipment. – Make plans to invite a new artist in residence. 36/49
