Dublin master beekeeper Keith Pierce has a passion for bees. He has been beekeeping for over 25 years, successfully collaborating with our country’s unique Dark Native Irish honeybees (Apis Mellifera Mellifera). The actual season during which the bees bring in a surplus crop of honey, which the Irish beekeeper can safely remove, lasts only for about three months (of May, June and July) but this is very much weather dependent. This talk and demonstration will help us learn about the best ways to preserve the naturally biodiverse and pollinator-rich environments that we can all personally create.
