knew that original owner Jon Widegren had sold the iconic hamburger joint Flippin’ Burgers. Now the new buyers have become official knowledge too. It’s the burger chain Tugg Burgers that will try to shoulder the responsibility of running the popular restaurant. “We at Tugg Burgers have always been huge fans of Flippin’ Burgers and we are excited to be part of Flippin’s continued journey,” CEO Viggo Broström says. Tugg Burgers already exists in seven Swedish cities – Borås, Helsingborg, Gothenburg, Lund, Malmö, Uppsala and Västerås – with plans to open at more locations around the country. Tako reopened Just like many other restaurants Tako, closed this spring when the corona pandemic struck, but at the end of August they reopened their doors at Birger Jarlsgatan 29. “We are really happy to be able to open the restaurant again and kick start the autumn with Stockholm’s best DJs from Studio Barnhus. By putting extra emphasis on the music and the bar section we hope to make this autumn at Tako vibrant like never before,” says part-owner Niklas Odin. The Giraffe is opening Acclaimed chef and restaurateur Pontus Frithioff’s latest creation La Girafe is situated at Fleminggatan 39 at Kungsholmen, and serves a menu inspired by France’s multicultural food culture. It opened on 16 September, and the restaurant is comprised of three different areas. First, there’s a café and bar with around 30 seats, then there’s a bistro with room for 90 seated diners and finally there’s the lounge, a bar for up to 45 people. The latter part is also available to hire for private events. The restaurant will be open all day, 08:0023:00 between Sundays and Thursdays, plus 08:00-00:00 on Fridays and Saturdays, so you can actually have them cook you three meals a day every day of the week.
