WORDS Martina Murray BOOZY BREWS IN BIRDHILL SWEE
T BABY CHEESES Westward bound city slickers are invited to make a small detour off the M7 at the end of June for what’s being described as the country’s first destination coffee festival. Founder Alan Andrews tells us that the caffeinated jamboree features “amazing brews, tempting street food, and the best vibes.” It all kicks off with a BBQ dinner to celebrate the 10th Birthday of the popular roastery, along with a Wine Portfolio Tasting on the Friday night. Another weekend highlight includes a boozy Brew Bar where festival goers can sample traditional Irish coffees and innovative coffee cocktails, with a chance to get some hands-on experience making the perfect espresso martini. There’s also a series of live roasting sessions, coffee tastings, and barista competitions. Well worth the pit stop.
