COGNIZANT ADVERTORIAL 2 DELIVERING EFFICIENCIES A
CROSS MANUFACTURING AND LABORATORY OPERATIONS Accelerated new product introduction (NPI): Agentic AI can assist with the analysis of vast amounts of data coming from discovery and development batches in order to accelerate NPI. Companies can use agentic AI to move to a check-list NPI , eventually transitioning to a one-click NPI where the design and configuration of the shopfloor systems is a fast, agile and seamless process. Quality control: Agentic AI can be harnessed in quality control processes across manufacturing and lab procedures. Agents can be trained to recognize subtle deviations in real-time data from sensors and cameras, such as changes in temperature, pressure or even visual anomalies in the product itself. These insights can feed into process analytical technology (PAT) to develop even tighter control of the manufacturing process. This proactive approach minimizes waste, reduces downtime and ensures consistent product quality. Supply chain optimization: Monitoring real-time data from various sources, including yield, capacity, manufacturing equipment, inventory systems and transportation networks, agentic AI can identify potential bottlenecks or disruptions. Agents can then autonomously adjust production schedules, reroute shipments or proactively order supplies to mitigate these issues, ensuring a smooth and uninterrupted flow of materials and products. 3 ACCELERATING COMMERCIALIZATION TIMELINES Augmenting customer relationship management (CRM) with personalization: Agentic AI can allow CRM to move beyond simple data storage and reporting to proactive, intelligent engagement. By analyzing vast datasets within the CRM, including physician prescribing patterns, patient demographics and market trends, agents can then identify high-potential target customers and suggest personalized engagement strategies for sales teams for improved engagement. Instead of relying on static reports, sales teams can receive dynamic, real-time insights tailored to each individual customer, such as a healthcare provider (HCP), empowering them to have more effective and targeted conversations. Sales and marketing orchestration: AI agents can autonomously identify and segment HCPs based on their specialization, prescribing patterns and engagement with previous campaigns. Messaging and content can then be tailored to each HCP’s specific needs and interests, delivering the most relevant information through their preferred channels. This level of personalization can significantly improve engagement and response rates, leading to more effective communication and, ultimately, increased prescriptions. Market access and pricing: By analyzing market data, real-world evidence and regulatory shifts, agentic AI can help predict reimbursement success, tailor pricing strategies based on regions, payer specificities and demand, and support with decision-making around market expansion and resource allocation. Agents can also help to streamline pricing governance and contract management for operational excellence and enable hyperpersonalized interactions with healthcare providers and payers to enhance commercial outcomes. The future is here Capable of independent action and complex problem-solving, agentic AI is already revolutionizing a range of aspects of the life sciences ecosystem. While current applications demonstrate significant promise, the industry is only scratching the surface of agentic AI’s potential. As agentic AI evolves, the life sciences space can anticipate a shift toward more proactive and predictive capabilities. This personalized approach, powered by agentic AI, could usher in an era of truly precision medicine, where treatments are optimized for maximum effectiveness and minimal side effects. In life sciences in particular, the evolution and refinement of industrial AI agents will be key to reconciling increasingly stringent regulatory requirements impacting the drug manufacturing process with cost- and resource-efficiency demands.
