Hole No. 1, 350 m, par 4 A good open hole of medi
um length to start the round. The tee is elevated to give a good view of the fairway. Some 50 yards of rough ground in front of the tee would penalise a topped shot. The fairway of very good quality all the way to the green. The green should be guarded with a pot bunker in front to the right. An easy hole which should keep dry at all times. Hole No. 2, 340 m, par 4 A good wide fairway of very good quality is indicated here. The green among the sandhills will call for a very good second shot against the west wind, especially if a diagonal bunker is placed across the left front of the green. Hole No. 3, 490 m, par 5 This will be the Tipperary hole of the course, a very long hole againt the west wind. Bunkers would add to the interest of the hole. Hole No. 4, 150 m, par 3 The architect has been forced to plan this hole to be played over the gravel pit due to the fact that hole No. 7 is compelled to return between the pit and the fishing nets. Hole No. 5, 370 m, par 5 In the opinion of the architect this should prove to be an outstanding hole, permitting the long player with two very good shots to get home in two. The drive from the sandhills is very attractive offering several lines according to the player’s ability. The green among the sandhills will call for a very interesting second or third shot as the case may be. Hole No. 6, 280 m, par 4 This is a hole of the drive and pitch variety, with an open fairway inviting a long drive. A bunker on the right front of the green will however ask the player to place this shot to the left in order to open up the entrance to the green. Hole No. 7, 300 m, par 4 Another hole of the drive and pitch type. The drive, again from the sandhills, will have to be placed very accurately to permit the approach to be played through the gap between the gravel pit and the fishing nets. Hole No. 8, 175 m, par 3 This should prove to be a very good long short hole. The shot from the tee asks for the ball to be placed slightly left in order to run down to the green. Hole No. 9, 330 m, par 4 A good straight drive is asked for here owing to the green position among the sandhills with bunkers each side. A good finishing hole should be difficult and this one will certainly call for two very well played shots to get to the required Par 4.
