SWEDEN Thermo Fisher Scientific opens distribution and labeling center and new bioanalytical laboratory The company has opened a new 8,000 m2 center supporting its immunodiagnostics business in Uppsala and a new bioanalytical and biomarker laboratory within GoCo Health Innovation City in Gothenburg. THE UPPSALA center represents an investment of USD 18 million in advanced infrastructure, automation and operational capabilities. The center strengthens the company’s global supply chain for in vitro diagnostic tests used as an aid in the diagnosis of allergic and autoimmune diseases. The new facility in Gothenburg expands the company’s global bioanalytical capabilities to support customers across all phases of drug development. Technological capabilities at the site include cell-based assays, immunoBUS INESS DEAL LEOPHARMA ACQUIRES REPLAY The acquisition adds expertise and a next-generation gene therapy platform to LEO Pharma’s pipeline through Replay’s high-payload herpes simplex virus (HSV) delivery vector. REPLAY'S equity holders will receive USD 50 million upfront, plus milestone payments and tiered single-digit royalties. “Using our AI-powered scouting platform we identified Replay as a high-potential opportunity. Replay's lead drug candidate is currently in preclinical studies for the treatment of the rare genetic condition dystrophic epidermolysis bullosa (DEB). The site is equipped to handle small molecules, as well as complex therapeutic modalities, including peptides, antibodies, oligonucleotides, and cell and gene therapies. The new lab and center reinforces the company’s long-term commitment to the Swedish life sciences ecosystem and continued growth as a major employer and investor in the region, it states. It has today more than 1,500 employees in Sweden across five locations. NLS NLS THE OXIPIT team will operate as a dedicated AI development center within Sectra’s Imaging IT Solutions operating area. Alongside Sectra’s own capabilities, Sectra’s Amplifier service will remain an open, vendor-neutral ecosystem, providing healthcare providers access to AI applications from a wide range of vetted partners. “The ability to autonomously clear high-confidence normal cases mark a transformative step for radiology.
