IC REGION IN A NEW JOB James Lee CEO of NADMED Markus Kede Chief AI Officer at Lundbeck Jane Hvolbæk Nielsen Director General of European Spallation Source JAMES LEE brings more than 25 years of experience in the international pharmaceutical and healthcare sector. He has held commercial and operational leadership roles across multinational pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies, including Novo Nordisk, where he was part of shaping the global launch strategy for Ozempic. Most recently, he served as Chief Brand Officer at Pharmanovia, where he was responsible for the company’s specialty medicines portfolio. “NADMED’s technology addresses a fundamental biological system that is becoming increasingly important across research, diagnostics, and personalized health. What stands out is how quickly the company has translated strong science into real commercial traction, with a presence in more than 30 countries. I see a clear opportunity to build on this foundation and scale up its impact globally for researchers, clinicians, and patients,” says James Lee. MARKUS KEDE will lead the continued evolution and execution of Lundbeck’s global AI strategy. He will establish strong governance and responsible AI practices, build focused AI capabilities, and drive scalable deployment across functions, Lundbeck states.. He brings more than 15 years of international leadership experience across global and commercial roles in highly regulated environments. He currently serves as Senior Vice President, Finance & Business Planning for Lundbeck US, where he leads strategic and financial performance for the US organization and chairs the US Digital & AI Strategy Committee. In this capacity, he has been instrumental in defining and advancing AI initiatives and accelerating enterprise adoption of AI and automation, Lundbeck states. Markus Kede will transition from his current US-based role over the coming months and is expected to assume his new role and join the Leadership Team by July 1. JANE HVOLBÆK NIELSEN brings, besides an internationally recognized career in materials science research, 15 years of experience in leading and managing a large scientific organization. Since 2011, she has been Head of the Physics Department at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU). “I am honored to be chosen to lead the European Spallation Source, ESS, as it completes construction and prepares to operate as one of the world’s leading neutron sources, supporting a large community of scientists to deliver scientific and societal impact,” says Hvolbæk Nielsen She holds a PhD in physics from DTU and an MSc in Electrical Engineering. She served as Professor and Associate Professor at DTU. She serves on several boards and is a member of the External Advisory Panel at the Department of Materials, Imperial College London. Jane Hvolbæk Nielsen's fiveyear mandate will start on November 1, 2026. Malin Grape Special Advisor to WHO MALIN GRAPE is to be appointed Special Advisor on antimicrobial resistance (AMR) to the WHO European Region. Her role will include advocating for AMR control across the region, engaging partners, contributing to strategic discussions at regional and global levels, and chairing the Independent Expert Group for the AMR Accountability Index in 2026. Grape has previously served as Sweden’s Ambassador on AMR and has extensive experience of international cooperation in this field. She has represented Sweden at European, WHO and other international forums, and has been an important voice in strengthening global work against antimicrobial resistance.
