EDITORIAL TIME TO MAKE A CHOICE FOR CHANGE Publis
hed by Soya Group Editor-in-Chief & Publisher responsible under Swedish press law Helene Samuelsson W e are on a highway to climate hell with our foot on the accelerator. Now more than ever, it’s time to forge the pathways to cooperation. Humanity has a choice: cooperate or perish.” No, this is not a quote from me, but from António Guterres, the UN SecretaryGeneral. Regardless of how one chooses to express oneself, most people would agree that cooperation between businesses, companies, governments, academia, and politics is the only way forward. We are in a time of extensive transition processes to meet societal challenges. Limiting climate change and halting the loss of biodiversity requires multiple and powerful measures, and to do so we need to work across sectors and disciplines – together. COLLABORATION IS SOMETHING that Soya Group has been working on consistently for a long time, and it is something that reflects all the Group’s activities and is evident in almost every article in Our Way. After six months as Head of Communications, my first lasting impressions of Soya Group are the pioneering spirit and longterm approach, together with the courage and unique aptitude for creating and maintaining a wide range of partnerships. And with sustainability in focus. But we need to get better at communicating all the good things that are done within the Group. We need to step up our game to become a stronger and clearer force and voice, in a truly sustainable green transition. IN A TIME of transition and change, communication plays a key role. If you want to be part of influencing towards a sustainable transition, you need to be heard and seen. And as Erik Nøklebye says in the article on page 8, Trycksak 3041 0091 A GREEN MAGAZINE Helene Samuelsson VP Group Communications Soya Group This magazine is produced in accordance with the Nordic ecolabelling system, the Swan. “Changing people’s mindsets takes time and new innovative solutions are needed.” It’s not only about changing people’s mindsets, but also about education, highlighting what is possible, sharing our pioneering spirit and raising awareness about which choices are truly sustainable. We need to elevate our brand and make it more visible in order to influence external stakeholders and decision makers, locally as well as globally. WE WANT TO see long-term, sustainable, but also competitive solutions, which means that laws and regulations must also steer towards the right behaviour and the right solutions. Working together with the business community, academia, and different authorities, makes for better conditions for pursuing our issues and bringing about change. Everything starts internally and Soya Group’s co-workers are our most important ambassadors for a truly sustainable transition. The foundation is a common approach to where we are heading – Our Way!
