DIGITALISATION Q2 2021 1
DIGITALISATION@HANDELSBANKEN UP IN THE CLOUDS The
cloud affects, for example, how the Bank develops, innovates, buys and sells services, and co-operates with others. he growing Cloud market can basically be likened to an industrialisation of IT with economies of scale, innovative power and standardisation pushing development forward. Measuring and comparing cloud services is a challenge, but in general, the entire cloud market has grown steadily and rapidly in terms of turnover ever since the concept of the cloud arose. Although the cloud has been the subject of heated discussions and analysis for over a decade, the area remains complex, with many concepts in play, and has gone through periods of both under- and overconfidence But similar to technology such as 5G, Internet of things and AI, there is no doubt that powerful cloud services in the 2020s will be a natural part of our surroundings. T For us, cloud-based working methods will be important to achieving a balance in regards to increased demands from customers, so we can meet them when, where and how they want, while maintaining a high level of security. This is critical to the business and to our capacity to react quickly and harness new opportunities – not least from a sustainability perspective. We have recently signed an agreement with a main cloud service provider, enabling us to begin the work of migrating existing systems to the selected supplier to operate. This will be one of Sweden’s largest migration projects of all time. We have also started the roll-out of M365 as our global collaboration platform, and one of our agile development trains is already up and running with the implementation of the first stages of what will be our new cloud-based customer relations platform. We have been building long-term relationships with our customers for 150 years, and our growth has been founded on advisory services and sales adapted to the needs of our customers. We are now taking a step into the future, in terms of moving what we are best at into the digital sphere, and being able to offer even more of this to a wider audience – much to the satisfaction of both employees and customers. 12 HANDELSBANKEN
