ps between developers Effective IT is an initiative in which several teams at the Bank focus on creating efficient development environments, tools and processes for our employees, and by doing so improve our internal efficiency and capacity. The teams thus contributes to our goal of increasing our capacity to deliver value often and at the point in time we want to. he development that takes place within the teams will benefit our agile development trains, as they can develop more, at a higher quality and with more flexibility. T The work focuses on: • Quicker and more effective deliveries of technical infrastructure – both through changed ways of working regarding the delivery of existing technology, and through facilitating a higher degree of automation. • Modern development methods and automated development tools – which allow for the acceleration of development. • Reduced administration and manual processing, to ensure, for example, that relevant regulations are followed, and that testing code with different systems and applications before launch is replaced with automated solutions. Effective IT supports the organisation by building the solutions to achieve success in these focus areas. One of the teams has created the conditions to allow our web developers to begin developing in Azure DevOps Services. Another team has collaborated with our agile development train for lending to create a framework and further opportunities for building applications in Open Shift. The development taking place in Effective IT is a part of the Bank’s expanded, “behind the scenes” efforts planned to continue up into 2022. In addition to Azure DevOps Services in itself contributing to shorter feedback loops between developer and customer, we also work continuously to improve and shorten the feedback loop between developer and user when the users are our own developers. Information on what is in progress and what is being delivered is provided through different forums, closely related to technology for those who will use the solutions, and from a more general perspective for their managers. Given that the solutions often entail new working methods, we ensure that they are used in a good way and that we obtain the positive effects of the new solutions. HANDELSBANKEN 33
