AND MUSIC WEEK LINE UP ANNOUNCED Showcasing 50 emerging Irish acts (including Kiiko, pictured) in iconic venues such as The Grand Social, Workman’s and The Button Factory, IMW runs from the 30th of September to the 2nd of October with Lost Lane acting as the festival hub. A spokesperson for the Ireland Music Week Team said “We can honestly say that the Irish music scene is in wonderful health. The Breast Cancer Ireland Very Pink Run takes place in Dublin, Kilkenny and Cork this year from 29th August (the Dublin run) to 6th September with the family friendly, festival style event raising funds for critical breast cancer research and new clinical trials. Men, women and children of all ages and fitness levels are welcome with 10k and 5k route options available on the day, along with music, food and family entertainment. BIG IDEAS Bright Nights, Big City – Culture, Music and the Future of the NightTime Economy, is taking place at the National Concert Hall on Tuesday 22 September. Organised by AIM Ireland in partnership with Dublin City Council’s Night-Time Economy Office, the conference will bring together Irish and international speakers to explore how cities can build vibrant, safe and sustainable evening and night-time economies. Ireland has enjoyed another incredible year for live music and events, with more than three million tickets sold, but the conversation is now much bigger than concerts and events alone. It ensures that world-class theatre remains accessible for those who might have otherwise been unable to attend. 10FOR10 widens access for new audiences, emerging artists, and theatre makers to experience international productions that may not return to Ireland, along with new Irish works.
