RE AT MENHAMMAR On Ekerö and Munsö outside Stockholm, the Tre Gårdar project brings regenerative agriculture to the forefront. Led by sustainability company Archaea, the project involves three neighbouring farms—each using different cultivation systems—to examine how farming methods affect soil health, productivity, and carbon storage. Menhammar Farm plays a central role, contributing to efforts that address challenges like soil compaction and support microbial diversity in the soil. Archaea focuses on sustainable solutions for both agriculture and energy. In partnership with SLU (Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences), which conducts detailed soil analyses, the project aims to make methods and findings broadly accessible. By measuring soil life, biodiversity, and carbon levels, Tre Gårdar offers valuable insights into how healthy soils can strengthen farming systems—both in Sweden and beyond. Menhammar’s participation highlights how established farms can adapt to meet environmental demands, advancing both sustainable agriculture and long-term climate goals. 18 OUR WAY 1/2025
