New Swedish Books, Autumn 2017 1
Autumn 2017 Welcome to a new autumn filled with b
ooks! This year’s selected independent columnists have now worked their way through all the books for children and young adults, the comics, graphic novels, the fiction, and the poetry published this season. They’ve deliberated, taken notes, and made lists, and have now finally chosen the books they believe are the cream of the crop this autumn. Just as in the spring these columnists are: Arne Johnsson, author, critic, and librarian Lisa Bjärbo, children’s book writer and one of the creators behind the children’s book podcast Bladen brinner Anders Lundgren, freelance writer, festival producer (Stockholm International Comics Festival), and one of the creators of the podcast Hög av serier. Their job has been to choose the books they like best, therefore it is not an overview of all the books published this autumn in Sweden. Nor is it a list of the books that stand the best chance of reaching a wider, international audience. It is simply our writers’ absolute favourites amongst the autumn’s publications, nothing less. You will find information about rights and contact details linked to each description of the books.
