y GLAMMY ORIGAMI Coppinger Row A DECADE OF SUESEY STREET October sees the legends at Suesey Street chalking up a decade of service with a specially designed 10th Birthday Menu to help celebrate the auspicious occasion. In a nostalgic nod to the past, Head Chef Dino Savić has lovingly recreated a flavoursome retrospective of the creativity and hospitality that have become synonymous with the restaurant over the years. This month sees him revisiting ten of the most popular dishes that have defined the Suesey Street story so far. So what’s on the menu? We’re told that diners can look forward to tucking in to delicious Roast Turbot served with Braised Chard, Lemon Potato, North Sea Shrimp and a Beurre Blanc Sauce that’s probably reason enough to forgive autumn for existing. There’s also pan-seared North Atlantic Scallops brightened with Cucumber, Cauliflower, Borage Leaf, a hit of Red Chilli, and Yuzu Purée. And because no celebration at this time of year would be complete without a bit of game, the innovative chef has also included a delicious Duck Terrine layered with Apple, Porcini Mushrooms, Spaghetti Squash, Foraged Mint Flower, and a tasty Duck Jus. Of course, it wouldn’t be a party without raising a special toast, so as an added bonus diners can treat themselves to a glass of 10th Birthday Signature Gin and Berry Sour Cocktail, available exclusively throughout October. Bravo Suesey – here’s to ten more! sueseystreet.ie 30 Word has it that The Ivy Asia is set to mix things up when it opens on Dawson Street this November, bringing with it an experience featuring ‘Asian-inspired flavours, creative cocktails and show-stopping interiors’. As we went to press further details were yet to be revealed, but a quick scan of the advance publicity indicates that Dubliners can look forward to ‘a uniquely immersive setting’ similar to that currently enjoyed by diners in UK cities as diverse as Brighton, Guildford, and Cardiff. Quite how the self-styled ‘glamorous restaurant and bar’ chain experience eventually translates to Dublin’s city centre remains to be seen, but for those seeking a sneak peek of what might be in store, a ramble through the website of the mothership may help provide some clues. theivyasia.com SERVICE PLEASE!
