BOOZING A welcome find for lovers of all things Spanish lands this autumn, with the arrival of the delicious Rioja Discovery Collection. Boasting three lovely reds and one classy white, choose from the classic Faustino Rivero Ulecia Rioja Reserva, a typically smooth, balanced, traditional Rioja, or delicious Marqués del Atrio Crianza, noted for its vibrancy and freshness thanks to its high Graciano content. For lovers of white, FRU Albariño, which has garnered itself an impressive 91 points in the Peñín Guide, offers a chance to sample all the pleasure of a stylish, Galician Albarino. Meanwhile FRU Faustino Rivero Ulecia comprises a winning combination of Bobal and Tempranillo, resulting in notes of ripe fruit and black plum. The latter works brilliantly with roast meats and is, hands down, our absolute fav. Available exclusively at Tesco (RRP Ireland, Clubcard offers apply). Who doesn’t love an autumnal bargain, especially when it comes to imbibing? Those whiling away their Sundays in the city centre are invited to pull up a pew and savour a special entitled ‘Tacos and Marg’ at Row, where the convivial wine bar is currently offering two tasty Tacos served with a refreshing Margarita for a score. Further afield in Dun Laoghaire, those taking in the bracing sea air can reward themselves for their exertions with a spot of early bird boozing at Hartley’s on the Harbour Road.
