DRINKS HONEY CHILD The latest innovation by the m
aster blenders at Tullamore D.E.W. sees their multi-awarded triple blend whiskey married with 100% Natural Bohemian Honey to produce a warm, sweet, smooth liqueur with an ABV of 35%. The honey part of the new blend comes from the forest hives of Bohemia, which they tell us have a longstanding reputation for producing excellent quality honey with a richer flavour, thanks to the high proportion of Spruce trees there. The taste profile has been evocatively described as ‘smooth vanilla and sweet honey flavours buzzing together in a bottle’, with the Offaly distillers dubbing their latest creation ‘the cheeky little brother’ to their classic Tullamore D.E.W. The young upstart is already creating its own buzz, having bagged itself a Gold Medal at the Irish Whiskey Awards 2024. Tullamore D.E.W. Honey is now available at bars and off-licences throughout the city at an RRP of €29 per bottle. tullamoredew.com MINUTY M ROSÉ X ELLIOTT ROUTLEDGE LAY LOW HARD ICED TEA Inspired by a brief sojourn in Boston, a city famed for hosting a riotous tea party back in 1773, entrepreneur Cian Stanley arrived back to Ireland on a mission to bring the first non-sparkling alcoholic iced tea to Irish shores. Its founder tells us that the light and fruity iced tea was born through a casual conversation with a friend, and that the new bevvie took six months to perfect before going into production and launching as Lay-Low Hard Iced Tea this Spring. He adds, “When we realised that there wasn’t an alcoholic iced tea in the Irish market, I decided to change that. Lay-Low is about savouring those moments in life, significant or small, spent with your people.” And presumably laying low afterwards… Currently available in two flavours – Lemon and Peach - the unique blend comes in at 4.5% ABV, with 90 calories and 0 grams of sugar per can. It can be found in retailers including Supervalu, Centra, and independent off license retailers in association with Dunnes Stores. @laylow_icedtea Continuing the collaborative artistic initiative it first began back in 2018, Minuty recently unveiled artist Elliott Routledge as the designer of the latest edition of its Rosé cuvée bottle. The Australian contemporary artist best known for his vibrant use of colour, bold patterns, and abstract forms said that the inspiration for the bottle’s artwork comes from the landscape surrounding the vineyard in the heart of Provence, adding, “My illustration reflects the topography of the land and incorporates four key elements, including the Mediterranean sea, which is close to the vineyard and influences the grapes.” The mouthfeel of this new vintage for the 2025 spring-summer season is indulgent and round, with crunchy fruit and a touch of sweetness that tempers its liveliness. Perfect at this time of year, the balance and freshness of Cuvée M pairs nicely with fresh summer dishes like classic Caprese, Caesar or Niçoise salads, as well as seafood platters and light bites such as bruschetta or grilled prawns. The Minuty M Limited Edition is available from independent off licences including Higgins Clonskeagh and Redmond’s of Ranelagh. RRP €24. minuty.com 36
