Adam and Albin’s summer During five weeks in July
and August, the renowned chef duo Adam Dahlberg and Albin Wessman will open the summer restaurant Ön at Carlshäll on Långholmen. There will be a garden bar and an outdoor restaurant in lush natural surroundings where the food will be cooked over open charcoal grills and wood-fired ovens. The service staff will be recognisable from their inner-city restaurant Misshumasshu and the music direction is in the hands of Studio Barnhus who will both play themselves and book DJs and live acts. Apart from Adam and Albin a stream of chef friends will be guesting the restaurant all throughout the summer. Among them names like Frida Ronge, Tommy Myllymäki and Markus Aujulay are notable. Ön is open until 8 August and it’s open between 12:00 and 01:00 every day of the week. It’s at the new restaurant destination Stockholmsverken on Södermalm. “We have gone through a very special spring where life in the city has to a large degree been closed down. And just in time with people finding their way back to the various spaces of the city, we want to offer the inhabitants of Södermalm new experiences. That’s why we are so happy that Bun Bun has decided to move into Stockholmsverken,” says Per Helgesson at AMF Fastigheter. Bun Bun serves French-Vietnamese food and among the various treats on the menu you’ll find Vietnamese tacos, noodle salads, rice dishes, salads and of course the Vietnamese baguette Báhn Mi. “We see Báhn Mi as the perfect example of the modern, border-crossing kitchen. When the Vietnamese waved goodbye to the French in 1954 they kept goodies like bread, mayonnaise and paté. Cycling street vendors added domestic flavours and there and then, what many call the best-tasting sandwich in the world was born,” says Tau Mandeus, owner. Bun Bun opened early July at Magnus Ladulåsgatan 2A. The restaurant is open daily between 10:00 and 20:00. Operakällaren in the sunshine Sitting on the porch on top of Operakällaren, their new outdoor concept Strömmen is opening with a simpler menu created by Stefano Catenacci. On the menu you’ll find Nordic classics like Kalix bleak roe with sour cream, fried cod with boiled early potatoes and Operakällarens steak tartare. But you can of course also just pop by for a glass of wine or a cocktail. “We are so happy to enrich Stockholm with a sunny outdoor terrace. Of course we are careful and wish to reduce the spread of infection and follow all the recommendations and restrictions from Folkhälsomyndigheten [the Public Health Agency],“ says Abbe Ibrahim, the Operakällaren CEO. Strömmen by Operakällaren is open Monday-Saturday from 13:00 until late. 21
