Maya berättar: ”One of the exciting things about
painting murals in new places is that no amount of research and prior planning can give me an idea of the actual feeling and soul of the place is until i immerse myself in it. it’s one thing to learn about the history through google or wikipedia. it’s another thing to step outside at the location and take a deep breath, navigate the sun in the sky and walk around to see how the painting may be viewed from different vantage points at different times of the day and night. Ultimately, though, the soul of the painting comes from the love of all of those involved, whether active or passive in the process. Optimism – my process is progressive, intuitive and hopeful for the future. Earnestly – the paint that pours out of me is my honest soul which i trust. Magnificent while painting, i am in the best state of mind i can ever be in, and i hope that the outcome is quite magnificent for the community and environment. Encouraging – Being optimistic, earnest and the best that i can be keeps me grateful everyday and inspires courage in others and courage in myself.” HENRIKDSDALSMUREN WHEN ART IS THE GOLD 43 FOTO: FREDRIKA FRIBERG
