OUR EXPERTISE GOES BEYOND THE EXPECTED Pimatic Oy
, a company providing pneumatic and low-pressure hydraulics solutions for industry and the transport sector among other fields, has been operating in Huittinen for nearly 50 years. Tapio Heino and Martti Pulli established Pimatic Oy in Huittinen in 1973, and the company kicked off its operations in February 1974. At the time, Finland lacked a company providing pneumatic solutions, and delivery times from abroad were long, which enticed Heino and Pulli to take up production. 48 years later, the company continues to do well; it currently employs about 50 people and reached a turnover exceeding €10 million in 2021. The company belongs to the Swedish Dacke Industries group. PIMATIC’S PRODUCTION and product development still take place in Huittinen, and the company handles all aspects of its production. The company continues to invest in machinery and equipment on an annual basis as it did last year to support its growth. Among the fields that contribute to the company’s turnover, the most prominent is the paper industry. The sawmill, mining, energy and process industries, along with logistics, are also important to Pimatic. The company is constantly looking for new areas that could benefit from pneumatics expertise. In addition to the facilities in Huittinen, the company has sales offices in Vantaa and Pirkkala to handle the largest customer accounts and customised products. “We have been working with pneumatics for 50 years with very little employee turnover, which means that we have retained our know-how effectively. Industrial operators generally turn to us when standard solutions prove insufficient. In the future, smart features and measurement functionalities will become more common in products, and we will be closely involved in the development,” says Managing Director Mika Virtanen. Pimatic is confident that applied pneumatics have weathered the global changes due to the low space requirements and energy consumption. Pimatic also manufactures standardised products, such as various valves and cylinders, but the company’s core strength lies in the supply of customised solutions. “Our solutions improve the efficiency, functionality and service life of machinery. Thanks to domestic production and subcontracting, we can manufacture series of all sizes starting from individual components,” says Key Account Manager Aki Jormanainen. As a result of the changes over the decades, Pimatic’s name may have slipped from the minds of some customers, but Jormanainen says that the company has invested in rebranding in recent years.
