Body Says Yes - Melanie Bonajo When the Body Says Yes is a culmination of videos, performances, installations, and photographs by Melanie Bonajo - a queer, non-binary, sex revolutionist - that showcases intimacy in modern times. Bonajo visualises intimacy in a raw and anti-capitalist way, fueled by the ever-present loneliness epidemic. As an artist, filmmaker, sexological bodyworker, and somatic sex coach, Bonajo is well-versed in the subject of intimacy and the lack thereof in society. They portray the feeling of desire, want, and connection, harmonious to alienation, and commodity-driven intimacy in a way that has never been seen before. Redefine your understanding of intimacy and gain witness to a sexual revolution. IMMA - Baroque Chapel, Royal Hospital Kilmainham, Dublin 8, Runs until October 20th This year’s Fingal Poetry Festival is set for Skerries in September. The weekend of the thirteenth will see the fifth year of this celebration of poem and prose, while the team behind it also celebrated a new monthly show on Dublin Digital Radio, The Poetry Hour. Firm favourites from previous festivals, such as seaside poetry walks, or a rhyme bolstered ramble through the forest, the unique Irish Sign Language interpreted lunchtime readings in the legendary Joe May’s public house and the beloved Family Fest, an inclusive affair for younger poetry enthusiasts in the company of poetry’s first cousin, music. With massive prizes awarded to entrants, supported by Fingal County Council, The Arts Council and UNESCO, the weekend will see cafes, bars and theatres across the picturesque coastline open their doors to hosting a beautiful celebration of wordsmiths, old and new. 15th-17th September, fingalpoetryfestival.com 54
