llivare, Sweden and in Tornio, Finland David Brown Santasalo have two workshops with full capacity to service and repair faulty industrial gearboxes. Among the customers are companies such as LKAB, Boliden, Outokumpu, and Agnico Eagle, but other industries in the region also receive service for their gearboxes. – We replace and repair many gearboxes but we also conduct inspections for our customers, to prevent damage to the equipment, says Stefan Junkka, head of David Brown Santasalo’s workshop in Gällivare. THE MINING INDUSTRY has a large and varied fleet of machinery. It can involve mills, mixers and conveyors. What these machines have in common is that they all feature gearboxes. In Gällivare and Tornio, the company has a team with expert knowledge and specialized equipment ready to repair and refurbish drives, gear wheels, and other machine parts in need of service. Both workshops work on gearboxes from all manufacturers, regardless of the make or model. – We service all types of gear units, such as those for conveyors, mills, pumps, fans, flotation tanks, as well as for large mining and construction machines. I would say that anything involving bearings and gear components is very close to our hearts, says Arto Lilja, head of David Brown Santasalo’s workshop in Tornio. – The same team has been working here for many years and we also have extensive experience with third-party gearboxes. The only difference is that we have data on our own gearboxes more easily available, says head of David Brown Santasalo’s workshop in Gällivare Stefan Junkka.
