ompanies attended the event LAST YEAR’S BIO-EUROPE TOOK PLACE IN COPENHAGEN, DENMARK, IN NOVEMBER AND OFFERED BOTH A RECORD NUMBER OF DELEGATES AND A STRONG DANISH PARTICIPATION. NORDIC LIFE SCIENCE (NLS) ASKED PAM PUTZ (PP), MANAGING DIRECTOR AT EBD GROUP, ABOUT SOME OF THE HIGHLIGHTS. NLS: Could you give us some quick facts from the event? PP: A record breaking 4 354 delegates from 2 325 companies attended the event. We brought together people from 62 nations and scheduled an impressive 26 092 partnering meetings over the course of the three-day event. We saw very strong Danish participation, however what surprised us was the impressive number of delegates from South Korea – which was 6% of the attendees. NLS: Why is this event important for the European life science industry? PP: In no other industry is the need for collaboration and networking greater than in our industry. BIOEurope provides access to over 4 300+ international dealmakers in one place. It’s a very efficient and cost effective way to meet existing partners and new ones. NLS: Could you tell us a little bit about the next BIO-Europe? PP: Next year BIO-Europe will take place in Hamburg, Germany. It will be BIO-Europe’s 25th anniversary event edition. Amongst other things we will do a little journey back in time and review the developments in our industry in the past 25 years. This is just one highlight. There will of course be many other sessions discussing latest industry trends, company presentations showcasing the latest developments, and of course many, many partnering meetings. NLS
