New Swedish Books. Spring 2016 1
Spring 2016 This year, Swedish Literature Exchang
e is putting poetry in the spotlight. As well as focusing on poetry in this edition of New Swedish Books, we are also publishing a separate issue that covers Swedish poetry from 1902 to today. Spring is also the time of year when many poetry books are published. As usual, the titles here are selected for their literary quality. The columnists are asked to pick the books that they think are the very best of this season. Nothing less. The selection does not cover the whole list of published books, the bestselling books or even the ones that are most popular abroad. The books for children and young adults have been selected by Anna Hällgren, librarian and critic. The fiction and poetry has been chosen by Jenny Högström, critic and translator. Comic books and graphic novels are picked by Ola Hellsten, artistic director and librarian at Serieteket, Sweden’s only comics library. In the back you will find contact details to the rights holder as well as information about all our international literature grants for translations, projects, events and travel. More information about Swedish Literature Exchange and previous editions of New Swedish Books can be found online at www.swedishliterature.se.
