While there are still some among us who are still careful about travelling and mixing on larger scales, most of us are happy to get out and about again, to discover fresh port of calls and to visit those bucket list destinations we craved while in lockdowns. The great news is that the Ireland we know and love is back and firing on all cylinders. Its Arts Festivals are alive again with the sound of music and laughter, the restaurants and bars are busy as people reconnect through stories and song and a communal love of great Irish produce, activities for families are re-energised with bigger and better attractions and our classic tourist destinations are still standing, waiting for new explorers to discover the wealth of history and heritage contained within. Our cover story focusses on some of the new markets that are springing up in Dublin and the wonderful sense of community they bring to the city. With rents sky high and a distinct lack of workshop spaces available, these markets are vital to independent artisan producers and craftspeople, allowing them a viable space to showcase and sell their wares. The traders are also great advocates for sustainable produce, another vital element as we enter an epoch of climate change. It’s also a great day out for citizen and tourist alike, a fun way to connect and engage with the daily life of the locals and a great source of cool and unique gifts for friends and family back home. Enjoy browsing and rummaging! BAR•RESTAURANT•VENUE charlotte quay dock, millennium tower, dublin 4 t +353 1 908 9490 | info@charlottequay.ie | www.charlottequay.ie 2
