Gig: Lucy Dacus Exhibition: Fornasetti If you hav
e any interest in indie music at all, you probably noticed the rise of trio Boygenius last year, as young songwriters Phoebe Bridgers, Julien Baker and Lucy Dacus teamed up for a ‘supergroup’ that captured the attentions of the blogosphere for what seemed live forever (as well as releasing an excellent EP). Dacus goes back to the solo day job this spring, touring her 2018 album Historian, and comes to Sthlm Americana Festival with a new single in the form of a cover of La Vie En Rose in her pocket too. Lucy Dacus, Mosebacketerassen, Jun 15 Fornasetti: Inside Out Outside In, Artipelag, opens Jun 14 The Italian artist and designer Piero Fornasetti was known for the many arrows in his quiver – his career took him everywhere from paintings to furniture design. After spending the Second World War in exile in Switzerland, he returned to Milan and started his collaboration with Giò Pontis, where Pontis’ designed furniture which Fornasetti decorated. Fornasetti later continued to design, with his wall-plates featuring the face of the opera star Lina Cavalieri (from the series Tema e Variazioni) perhaps some of his most famous works. He also painted and drew throughout his life. This exhibition at Artipelag takes on the difficult task of trying to pack as much Fornasetti as possible into a single room. Gig: This Is Head Malmö kraut-rockers This Is Head have been in the game for a while now, passing over the ten-year mark in the band’s life recently, and are celebrating with a new EP, X (cos the Roman numeral… you get it). X orientates their sound back to the band’s roots with long, instrumental grooves. The EP is out in May, and the band come to Slaktkyrkan in June.
