EAN VENTURES “We see an increasing interest beyond oncology” W HAT DO YOU predict will be the dominant market trend within life sciences this year? “The life science industry is in many ways in a good position. There is scientific progress, the need for medical innovation is as strong as ever with an aging population, and big pharma is keen on replenishing their pipeline. At the same time, funding for startups that are developing this innovation has become very difficult.” “We do see some concerning signs that not only impacts existing startups, but also discourages founders from starting new companies, and we see a lower rate of new startups than previously. With this in mind, we more than previously discuss with founders pre-company formation, with the intention of helping build a syndicate and actively take part in the company creation process.” PREDICTING 2024 // FINANCING
