Will there be a Nordic pavilion this year perhaps? A true hotspot for life sciences and innovation For more than a decade, Nordic Life Science Days has been building business partnerships, highlighting innovations and showcasing all that the Nordic countries have to offer in the life science field. CONVENTION.BIO.ORG THE WORLD’S LARGEST BIOTECHNOLOGY CONFERENCE The BIO International Convention is the largest global event for the biotechnology industry. It attracts the biggest names in biotech, offers key networking and partnering opportunities, and provides insights and inspiration on major trends affecting the industry. A LTHOUGH PARTNERING is the main reason why most companies’ management teams attend the event, BIO is also the place where many countries position themselves as biotech strongholds and promote their key strengths in life science. BIO (the Biotechnology Innovation Organization) is the world’s largest advocacy association, representing member companies, state biotechnology groups, academic and research institutions, and related organizations across the United States as well as in 30+ countries. This explains the multitude of topics covered in the sessions, spanning policy discussions, patient advocacy, new technologies, regulatory issues, business development & finance, and several disease areas. The event is also home to international policy meetings organized with international partners. THE 2023 EVENT attracted more than 1600 participants, more than 900 companies/organizations, more than 22,000 partnering meeting requests (at conference start) and more than 3,200 partnering meetings booked (at conference start). “The development of NLSDays has been truly impressive over the past ten years. The Nordic region has really emerged as a true hotspot for life sciences and innovation, and this event has provided fertile ground for many new partnerships and business deals over the years. We are proud to open the door to the Nordic life science arena to the world,” said Jessica Martinsson, CEO, SwedenBIO, at the 2023 event. NLSDAYS.COM 86 | NORDICLIFESCIENCE.ORG PHOTO OLA BJÖRKMAN
