Utmärkt Malmö 1
WHAT TO SEE THIS WINTER 4 February Moonica Mac Af
ter the success with her intimate show at Södra Teatern in Stockholm which then was taken on a tour around the country, Sweden’s darling Moonica Mac is now returning to the stage with a grand finale for the format. On February 4th she will take the Malmö audience on a little journey. An intimate evening where the organic and the simple, rather than the grand and bombastic, will take centre-stage, even if it’s performed on a larger stage. This time accompanied by sublime strings. It’s a mixture of golden oldies and previously unreleased material, and as a lot of Swedish music fans know - to see her live is something special. Malmö Live 38 15 February Seinabo Sey One of Sweden’s best singers and most exciting artists, Seinabo Sey recently released her third album The One After Me. It’s brave, affecting and permeated by a relieving sense of freedom when she plays around with the r & b of her youth, Swedish folk music and unexpected productions. Last summer she played a few exclusive live shows, not least as support to Bon Iver at Dalhalla plus an unforgettable concert at the Way Out West festival. With The One After Me behind her she is now going out on a Scandinavian tour this spring. She plays in Malmö in February. Moriska Paviljongen 1 March Alba August She might first have emerged as an actress but no doubts remain, she’s a singer and an artist who won’t keep a lid on her feelings. Alba August has the authentic and unexpected as a starting point. Over driving drums and grand synthesizers she sings unfiltered tales about loneliness, anxiety and a longing for light and leaves no one unmoved. I Wish I Was Someone Else is the follow-up to debut album I Still Hide that confirms her broad artistic palette and showcases a courage in telling stories that really hits home. Babel
