lund Summer’s Bak with Omnipollo The Bak bakery always celebrate the summer by bringing a few extra treats to Kastanjetorget in Farsta. This summer they have invited Omnipollo as a special guest. ”We will match up grains, something both beer and pizza are made from, and there will be a unique beer created just for this summer venture. There is always a ’pizza of the season’ - the first one is with ramsons, cured lemon and asparagus. We’ll have staff from our place and Omnipollos Hatt and our hope is that everyone will learn from each other, and that we’ll all become better at what we do,” Conrad Tyrsén from Bak told White Guide. The summer venture will be open Thursdays through Sundays for the whole summer, until 10 September. Renowned trio opens Plåtparken In the middle of June a new summer treat by the name of Plåtparken opens by the water at Årstaviken. Peter Schröder from Restaurang Bleck, Fredrik Lindstål from Glad Stad and Göran Svartengren från Restaurang Svartengrens are jointly opening a summer hangout spot in Stockholm, a stone’s throw from Skanstull. Plåtparken (meaning ‘the sheet metal park’) has been constructed from 17 containers, and will, according to the restaurateurs, offer food, drink, music, canoe rental, a kiosk and a sun deck. Pontus in the air to shut at the end of the year One of Arlanda’s few real restaurants will throw in the towel before the end of the year. A decision the restaurateurs themselves don’t seem to be perfectly at ease with. “The background is that [airport operators] Swedavia have decided to interpret the legislation in a way which means we don’t have renter’s rights, which means we cannot prolong our contract,” Pontus Frithiof explains. ”You can read on Swedavia’s website that they have been planning for this for a long time, the aim being redeveloping the airport with a future focus on a broad food and beverage range. If that’s synonymous with short contracts and high rents, I don’t know. Let’s let the future guests decide,” Pontus explains. 20
