IDA BÖRJEL Sond (Probe, 2004) Ida Börjel is a mis
chievous poet who comments on the contemporary world with great consistency but is also inspired by a desire for experimentation. Her early collections of poetry attracted a great deal of attention by working with documentary material, such as radio recordings. These are conceptual poems that turn every preconceived idea on its head while providing an entirely new way of relating to poetry. In Sond she offers the reader a map of terra incognita to explore. She is also an unusually funny poet who “stretches” language, using subtle shifts of meaning to expose the known world to all kinds of mischief.
