t publishing house, founded in 1837, has had a major influence on the publication of poetry in the twentieth century. www.albertbonniersforlag.se Modernista One of Sweden’s younger publishing houses with an emphasis on literary classics and translations of contemporary international fiction. www.modernista.se Norstedts Sweden’s oldest publishers, now aged 192, has a broad publishing programme and a long-lived poetry series. www.norstedts.se OEI Editör The journal OEI and publisher OEI Editör are devoted to “conceptual operations and aesthetic technologies” and produce periodicals and books relating to poetry and critical theory, www.oei.nu Rabén & Sjögren This imprint forms part of the Norstedts group and publishes literature primarily for children and young people, including work by Astrid Lindgren and Barbro Lindgren. www.rabensjogren.se Symposion Symposion has published mainly Swedish translations of international cultural theory since 1981, although Swedish prose and poetry are also represented in its publishing programme. www.symposion.se Wahlström & Widstrand Its many achievements include playing a major role in the publication of Finland-Swedish poetry and that of a range of significant authors in the 1980s. Debate and serious reviews play a prominent role in its pages. www.tidskriftenordobild.se Provins A periodical that has been produced since the 1950s, with a consistent focus on the literature of Norrland (the nine provinces that make up the northern part of Sweden). www.tidskriftenprovins.se EVENTS Göteborgs poesifestival (Gothenburg Poetry Festival) Sweden’s oldest poetry festival has an international scope and a special focus on young poets. www.gbgpoesifestival.se Littfest The literary festival held in Umeå, Västerbotten. The spotlight is on debate, poetry and minority issues. www.littfest.se Rum för poesi, Göteborg Book Fair For many years the country’s largest book fair has hosted a now well-established poetry event with a range of Swedish poets participating. The event also provides generous scope for the discussion of translation issues. www.bokmassan.se Stockholms Poesifestival (Stockholm Poetry festival) For the last two decades the event has been concerned with poetry in a broad sense and hosts encounters between literature, music, performance art and dance.
