SPRING 2016 JOHANNES HELDÉN ASTROECOLOGY ALBERT B
ONNIERS FÖRLAG RIGHTS: ALBERT BONNIERS FÖRLAG “ Astroecology is a kind of ecological poem; fragmented, evasive and beautiful, with elements of dystopian science fiction.” Astroecology As a poet, musician and artist Johannes Heldén has never been one to stick to a single genre. In his new work Astroecology he takes this transgressive and interdisciplinary practice to even greater heights. The poetry collection is simultaneously published in Swedish, Danish and English, there will be a performance for the stage, and a comprehensive digital work will also be launched. The book consists of images, poems and notes and concludes with an astroecological glossary starting at Artificial Intelligence and finishing in the Swedish 7 version at thunder, ‘åskväder’. All of it is of course in some sense poetry. Astroecology is a kind of ecological poem; fragmented, evasive and beautiful, with elements of dystopian science fiction. Heldén’s poems are a blend of poetic reportage, country diary and verse, characterised by a postapocalyptical ambience that’s both beguiling and immensely uncanny – especially as it’s so of-the-moment.
