ave Mulligan, The Sackville has opened up a door to another Dublin with a revamp that sees everybody’s ‘secret’ Northside rendezvous transformed into a glitzy new cocktail bar. Last month the spirited sister of Bar 1661 launched its mission to bring glamour back to Dublin 1 with a cracking opening night, swiftly followed by an innovative takeover involving Shingo Sasaki, General Manager of The Sober Company in Shanghai, as part of The World Class Cocktail festival. The resurrected boozer also has a glammy new monochromatic Insta grid to go with its new look, and punters with fun times on their radars are advised to keep a beady eye on it for news of happenings in the weeks and months ahead. @thesackvillelounge NEW SUMMER MENU AT THE BATH PUB There’s plenty of soakage on offer in Dublin 4 with the launch of a fresh new Summer menu at The Bath. No less than half a dozen Sourdough Pizza options can now be enjoyed at the accommodating local hostelry, where choices include the very tempting Sweet Devil, which comes crammed with gorgeous Tomato Sauce, Nduja, Jalapeño, Toon’s Bridge Fior di Latte, Native Honey, and Fresh Chilli. Vegan cheese is available on request, while the menu also includes Double Wagyu Smash Burger, Fish Tacos, Ballyhubbock Haloumi Burger, and Deep Fried Calmari. Perfect accompanied by a tipple of your choice, whether that happens to be creamy pints, refreshing summer cocktails, or a nice selection of vino. @bathpubdub JACKRABBIT’S REFRESHING NEW KIT Following a successful winter run, Kinnegar Brewing’s new premium ginger beer has just been kitted out in some striking new livery by Irish illustrator Dermot Flynn. The move sees the bottled brew join the ranks of Kinnegarland, the illustrative world normally reserved for the brand’s canned range. For those wondering, that world is populated mainly by rabbits, inspired by the name of the independent Donegal brewery, which in turn is named after The Kinnegar, a lovely local beach close to their location in the North West. It transpires that ‘Kinnegar’ is an anglicisation of coinicéar which means ‘rabbit warren’ and derives from coinín, the Irish for rabbit. This particular design has been inspired by the Jackrabbits of the parched deserts of Mexico and California, and once cracked, the bottle’s refreshing contents come balanced against a backdrop of flavours rounded off with sweetness to an ABV of 4%. Perfect enjoyed cold from the fridge, topped with ice and a slice of lime, or as part of an Irish whiskey cocktail, Jackrabbit is available in offies including O’Brien’s and Molloy’s, and on tap in bars such as Bonobo, Kodiak, and Caribou Dublin. RRP €3.99 per 500ml bottle. kinnegarbrewing.ie 34
