ECOFRIENDLY MOULDED FIBER PACKAGES Ecopulp produc
es and developes customizable 3D designed inner packages, made from recycled wood fi ber. Ecopulp specializes in designing and producing even diffi cult packages doing it ecologically. Main purpose for the molded fi ber products Ecopulp offers, is to use them as inner packages for protection during transportation and storaging. Ecopulp inserts can replace non-ecological plastic packaging. Also the whole package is easy to recycle after the use without separating. This means that the package is monomaterial It is no news that plastic pollution is by far one of the most pressing environmental issues. The production of disposable plastic products increases rapidly and overwhelms the world’s ability to deal with all the waste. That is why Ecopulp has such a drive to better the world one order at a time. “We want to be part of the solution, and we invite others to do so as well” comments Vesa-Matti Kontinen the Production manager of Ecopulp. The packages are made from recycled paper and as they have served their purpose, they are to be returned to the circle of recycling. Therefor the users carbon footprint decreases. Besides from being ecofriendly, it’s all cost-effective: the packages are stackable, so they are easy to move around and storage, and of course the recycling-costs lessen thanks to the biodegradability. Ecopulp does it all under the same roof. They design, manufacture and deliver – and everything is customizable to the client’s needs. The designs are made with a 3D system by a professional, which allows the company to develop any form of packaging. The fi nal products are light and durable, and they can also be water and grease resistant if needed. “The primary source of the raw material used in production is recycled wastepaper” is said in the Ecopulp website. You can tell that they also focus on minimizing their own environmental impact in the production process. For example, Ecopulp uses heat capturing, closed water circulation, new manufacturing machinery and they recycle their own waste energy. In the drying process the company uses biogas and their new bio power plant to help keep the company’s effects on the environment at a minimum. Ecopulp is all about green values and the employees trust that other companies will follow. “Hopefully sooner rather than later, we can head to a more sustainable future. When people take action, good things will come”, Ari Henttonen the CEO of Ecopulp states.
