JUST AN ILLUSION Having just returned to Dublin a
fter an 11-year stint in London, Fiona O’Neill is the designer behind the self-named label launched in 2019. Exploring themes of surrealism and optical illusions, O’Neill incorporates different art forms and application processes such as screen printing, painting by hand and ceramic sculpting into her work. With swirls, stripes and carousels of colour, her look is reminiscent of the most pleasing of acid trips. fionao-neill.com photos by Eimear Lynch FROMAGE VOYAGE We’re not sure what will replace the customary queues and squish through Sheridan’s in the days leading up to the 25th. This new Field Guide may prove indispensable then offering an overview of over 400 cheeses organised by type, illustrated by Yannis Varoutsikos and with suggested drink pairings. A Field Guide to Cheese by Tristan Sicard is published by Artisan, €21.95 sheridancheesemongers.com NOTES TO SELF Artist Domino Whisker’s Notes to Self is a series of 24 hand embroidered works.
