In The Meadows on the grounds of the Royal Hospital Kilmainham was superb, beautifully curated by Lankum and a joy to be present at. This year's line up, featuring Iggy Pop, looks set to be another cracker so we’ll be looking forward to that immensely. In our review of the year The Goo residents looked to last years’ Borderline Festival as the event of the year time and time again. It’s a perfectly pitched and placed event where you’ll be under a cosy roof (it is February), you can fairly easily get a drink of your choice, the 2-day pass is almost a giveaway and the stages are a short run up (or down) the stairs apart. Aside from the easy operational aspect, Borderline really is an unbelievably brilliant curated Festival that features the hottest new acts on the planet, internationally and locally. We are delighted to feature one of these acts, the Limerick based three piece Adore, on the front cover of our first issue of the new year. The band are one of numerous young Irish acts that are attracting attention from across the water and a recent Whelans headliner proved why. Dynamic, energetic, magnetic, flamboyant and vital, the adjectives go on and on but this band are serious contenders and we look forward to their progress as the year unfolds. We wish all our musicians a fruitful 2025.
